Together into the Jungle!
Latvia , 20^th - 29^th august 2010 (10 days)

 

Participant countries: Slovenia, Italy, Hungary, Romania, Latvia.

 

The aim of the project is to promote leadership skills of youngsters through exchanging experience using adventure learning and outdoor activities.

Latvia - countryside forests, rivers, lakes = outdoors activities

"So, a lot of co-operation, challenges, adventure, outdoors and enjoyable exchange in front of 30 participants"(Lauma Zubule, manager of the project, Luzumpunkts organization, Latvia)

They were selected for their intention to organize a project for 36 children with high abilities from district 6, Bucuresti (www.giftededu.org) Fii liderul darului tau/ Be the leader of your gift developing leadership atitude through outdoor education. They are using the knowledge and the know-how that they practiced in Letonia.

 

"Together into the Jungle"

started on 20th of august with a short adventure: the participants were invited to find out more about their schedule in those 10 days sleeping in the forest and grouping themselves in TOTEMS: fire, water, air, earth, 5th element. In the group they had to make a presentation of their totem. They coocked outside, exchange info about the trip and slept into the tents.

21st- cloudy morning wake up with hot tea

- name games, short adventure- from the place of camping to the permanent camping area

22nd - outdoor education vs adventure

23rd- comfort zone

24th - leadership and lot of activities

25th- Future planes - how we will apply what we experienced here. A very good plan for each country for the continuity of the project

26- 27- 28 great adventure Raining days, wind, lot of tasks contributed to a very tied group with excellent communication, good syncronize and strong abilities of leadership

28 evaluation of the entire project

29 - 30 back to civilization - Riga, shareing "wild" moments

In the evenings were national days where participants had the chance to discover more about the other countries.
